On Thursday (9/22/22) the House Republicans and Republican National Committee released their “Commitment to America” promising to fight for four cornerstone principles:
- An Strong Economy
- By fighting inflation, achieving energy independence, & strengthening our supply chain.
- A Safe Nation,
- They will secure the border, reduce crime and defend our national security
- A Future Built On Freedom,
- Through ensuring students succeed and parents have a voice, strive for healthy lives for Americans, and demand fairness from big tech.
- A Government Accountable To Its People.
- By preserving constitutional freedoms, holding Washington accountable and restoring the peoples’ voice.
Minority Leader McCarthy along with others have hit the media with the news. The details of this Commitment are posted on the NCRC website in a downloadable and printable .pdf file. Each of the above tenants are well explained with a plan for how to implement, and a “Field Guide” providing steps for Congressional Republicans to follow. Virginia’s 1st Congressional District Representative, Rob Wittman, previously had made us aware of this initiative, and fully stands with its principles.
It is my hope that this new “Commitment” will set a new course for us. Will it? I don’t know, but to that end I write this article, and post it to our NCRC Website in hopes you can be fully informed and keep our elected representatives accountable to US!
